ABOUT CAMP

Enhance Communication, Connect with others, Get Expert Guidance

CAMP is a weeklong intensive program designed for individuals with aphasia to foster meaningful interactions, build connections, and enhance communication skills in a supportive environment.

Led by skilled speech-language pathologists, this program integrates interactive sessions, communication strategy development, and engaging activities to help participants improve both communication and social connectedness.

Each day features a unique theme — fitness, nutrition, medical management, advocacy, and community access —with sessions guided by community partners such as music therapists, nutritionists, and yoga instructors. Graduate student volunteers will also provide additional support and engagement.

Transportation by Car

Find the main entrance at 500 S Columbia Drive. Please use marked parking available throughout the property. Do not park on grass or other natural areas.

Transportation by Marta Rail

Take the Blue Line to the Avondale station. Exit the southern side of the station and follow signs to the PATH East Decatur Greenway. It’s roughly a half mile to
the forest trailhead on the back side of the park or one mile to S. Columbia Drive where a right turn will take you to the park’s south entrance.

Transportation by Marta Bus

MARTA’s Route 114 operates North/South between the Avondale Station and GSU Perimeter Decatur Campus and runs every 40 minutes. Three stops are located along Legacy Park’s Columbia Drive frontage.
